Johnny Depp has revealed that he would happily continue to make Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
The actor is all set to reprise the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth movie in the hit franchise, on which filming is expected to get underway sometime this year.
Speaking to Parade the actor said: "Sometimes you fall in love with who you're playing. As filming winds down, you hear the clock ticking because you know you're going to leave your character behind and a kind of odd separation anxiety kicks in. You get irritable and just sort of melancholy.
"That's what happened to me when we wrapped the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I realised I was going to miss Captain Jack.
"I had felt so comfortable being him and being in that skin. Suddenly you go, 'Am I ever going to see him again?
There is a new director helming in the project in the form of Chicago and Nine movie maker Rob Marshall.
And while Depp is returning as Sparrow Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom will both be missing from the cast list. Despite the absence of two of it's original stars Depp admits he cannot wait to get back.
"I can't wait to get back in costume," he said. "Some people will say, 'Aha, Depp sold out by doing the sequels'.
"But it was never an issue for me. I love Captain Jack so much I'd do Pirates 7 if they asked me."
And his is back on the big screen this week as he takes on the role of the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland, which once again teams him with Tim Burton.
Alice In Wonderland is out now.
