Last night Johnny Depp braved the wind and the rain to greet the hundreds of fans that had turned out for the European Premiere of Sweeney Todd in London.Fans queued for hours in harsh weather in Leicester Square in hope of catching a quick glimpse of the popular actor.And they weren't disappointed as he spent almost an hour talking to fans and signing autographs.Depp was joined by Sweeney Todd co-stars Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and the film's director Tim Burton.Depp plays the legendary 19th century serial killer in the big screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's hit musical.This is the sixth collaboration between the actor and Tim Burton their previous movies include Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands.The film, which opens 25 January, has been nominated for four Golden Globes including Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Helena Bonham Carter, Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy for Johnny Depp, Best Director and Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.FemaleFirst Helen Earnshaw
