Johnny Depp says he feels good about the character of Tonto in The Lone Ranger.
The Lone Ranger is now set to go ahead, despite some hiccups in pre-production earlier this summer, with Depp set to star alongside Armie Hammer.
Gore Verbinski is in the director's chair and it will be the fourth movie that he had Depp have shot together.
And despite all the issues surrounding the project in the early stages Depp has a Captain Jack feeling about this role.
Speaking on CNN the actor said: "What I like about Tonto, what I feel good about Tonto is that I feel like he’s - you know when I came up with Captain Jack I thought ‘Okay I’ve really arrived at something different here,’ and Tonto feels right on par with Captain Jack, it feels like another Captain Jack to me."
Depp is back on the big screen next month with his new film The Rum Diary, which is an adaptation of Hunter S Thompson's novel of the same name.
He has just completed work on Dark Shadows, a project which one again saw him team up with director Tim Burton.
