John Krasinski says that he enjoyed working with Matt Damon and it was exciting to work with the guy that penned Good Will Hunting.
The pair have teamed up to write and star in Promised Land - directed by Gus Van Sant - which follows two salesman who visit a rural town to try and buy drilling rights from them.
And Krasinski that the writing process between himself and Damon was a good one and they found themselves working quickly.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "Matt and I worked really, really well together. We worked very quickly. We had very similar sensibilities, and I think we have an innately positive outlook on life.
"Our idea of where we wanted this movie to go was always similar. The real drawback when you write with a partner is that where you want it to go and where they want it to go is similar, but not exactly lined up, and that’s where it’s going to lead you into trouble.
"For us, we had point A and we had point B, but filling it all in was the fun part. I remember Matt saying that, when he got on set, he was let down to know that he was only playing one character.
"For a second there, we were both playing 17 characters. But, one of the other things that was really fun about writing with Matt was that we had become friendly and we were in this fun situation writing this."
Promised Land is the first movie for Krasinski since Big Miracle at the beginning of last year after returning to TV with The Office.
Promised Land is released 19th April.
