John & Edward could be about to audition for parts in The Hobbit.
The X-Factor stars have been linked to a whole host of projects since being kicked off the show and Guillermo Del Toro’s prequel to The Lord of the Rings is just the latest according to The Sun.
The pair have been linked to the roles of Fili and Kili.
An insider told the newspaper: "Peter is keen to see if Jedward have any acting ability. He needs twins for these parts and they have a perfect look for the film.
"But the characters have very prominent roles. They are the youngest dwarves and are sent out scouting a lot."
"The big question is whether Jedward could settle down on a major shoot because they are so excitable and hyperactive."
The movie is set to start filming in the spring for a tentatively scheduled 2011 release, however it has not yet been announced who will play the central role of Bilbo Baggins.
The only known casting is Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis who will return as Gandalf and Gollum. The novel has been adapted by Peter Jackson and will be directed by Del Toro.
The Hobbit is to be split into two movies and released over two years.
