Joel Edgerton has described working on The great Gatsby as a 'privilege'.
The Warrior actor has teamed up with Baz Luhrmann for the adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald - which also stars Leonardo DoCaprio and Carey Mulligan.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "It's an incredible honour to be a part of that film with that cast and with Baz Luhrmann, and it's such a privilege to play that character. It's got a real electricity to it.
"It has that feeling of stepping into a project where you get to bring literature to life, in a slightly different way.
"It's a different kind of electricity than when you get to enter a world of film that's already been established."
Edgerton is set to take on the role of Tom Buchanan in the movie while Tobey Maguire and Gemma Ward are also on the cast list.
It's been a great year for the actor with Animal Kingdom and Warrior already under his belt - both movies finding acclaim.
He is also set to star in The Thing with Mary Elizabeth Winstead later this year.
The Great Gatsby is set for a 2012 release.
