Jodie Foster believes that Mel Gibson has given 'the best performance of his life' in new movie The Beaver.
Foster returns to the director's chair for the first time since Home for the Holidays in 1995 for her latest project The Beaver.
Mel Gibson leads the cast as a man who uses a beaver hand puppet as his only way of communicating.
Speaking to PopEater the actress said: "It's very unconventional. It's not like anything you've ever seen.
"It has a very wry, interesting tone. And if you can embrace that, you can embrace the title, too," she explained.
"[Mel] loves the movie. He would do anything to support it, which is nice. We just have to keep our eye on the fact that he delivers probably one of the best performances of his life.
"I'm incredibly grateful for what he put on screen."
Foster also stars in the movie alongside Cherry Jones, Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence.
The Beaver is released 17th June.
