Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor have received one of the French government's highest honours in recognition of their contributions to the movie industry.
American funnyman Carrey and Scottish actor McGregor were named knights in the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters ceremony on Monday (01Feb10).
The Paris event took a light-hearted turn as the talented pair accepted their honours from the French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand, who declared, "I love you Jim Carrey! I love you Ewan McGregor!", as the titles were bestowed upon the stars.
The pair join forces on the big screen next later this month for comedy I Love You Phillip Morris.
The movie follows a family man, who discovers he is gay after an acciednt, is sent to prison and falls in love with his cellmate, Phillip Morris.
When Morris is released from prison, his new love embarks on a series of escape attempts to be reunited with him.
