Jessica Chastain used her Golden Globe acceptance speech to thank director Kathryn Bigelow.
Chastain picked up the Best Actress award for her central role in Zero Dark Thirty, which is Bigelow's return to the director's chair.
And Chastain heaped praise on the work the Bigelow has done throughout her career saying that she has done so much for women in cinema.
"I can't help but compare my character of Mia to you - two powerful, fearless women who allow their expert work to stand before them.
"You've said that filmmaking for you is not about breaking gender roles, but when you make a film that allows your character to disobey the conventions of Hollywood, you've done more for women in cinema than you take credit for."
Chastain saw off tough competition from Marion Cotillard, Helen Mirren, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts and now cements herself as the slight favourite for the Best Actress Oscar.
This is not the first award for Chastain for this role as she has picked up gongs at the National Board of Review, London Film Critics Circle Awards and Washington D.C. Are Film Critics Association Awards - to name but a few.
Zero Dark Thirty is a hard-hitting movie that follows the ten year search for Osama Bin Lade and also stars Mark Strong and Joel Edgerton.
Zero Dark Thirty is released 25th January.
