Jeremy Renner may be moving in on a deal that sees him take on the role of Hawkeye in The Avengers.
Renner has been linked with the role since bursting onto the scene last year with critically acclaimed war drama The Hurt Locker.
And while he admitted last year that he would love to part of the movie all it was was talk.
But now Josh Whedon is on board to direct and pre-production appears to be moving at a rapid rate Renner could be joining Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans on the movie.
The Hurt Locker was Renner's major breakthrough performance, a role that saw the actor go on to bag his first Best Actor Oscar nomination.
He will next appear in Ben Affleck's The Town whilst having The Raven also in the pipeline.
