Jennifer Lawrence admits that she was worried about taking on the role of Katniss Everdeen as she thought the role may overshadow her future work.
The Hunger Games has been a monster success this summer and is one of the biggest grossing movies of the year so far - it is also a role that has catapulted the actress to global superstardom.
Speaking to W the actress said: "With Hunger Games, I got really nervous about signing on to that huge franchise. I was afraid that Katniss would overwhelm any other character I'd try to do.
"But I love Katniss, and she didn't take over as much of my life as I thought she would."
Filming on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has got underway in Atlanta which will see Lawrence reprise the role alongside Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
But she is back on the big screen this week with horror movie House At The End of the Street and she is also set to star with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in Silver Linings Playbook.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for a 22nd November 2013 release.
