Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges is playing down his Oscar chances.

His latest movie Crazy Heart has won over critics and audiences since its release last year and he has become a frontrunner during the awards season.

He has already won the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance but lost out at the Baftas to British actor Colin Farrell.

Despite this he is still the red hot favourite to scoop Best Actor at the ceremony on 7th March. However the actor is refusing to get carried away.

Speaking to Sky News the actor said: "It's a little disconcerting because I prefer the world coming at me at a little slower pace."

Starring alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal, who also picked up an Oscar nod for her performance, the movie follows Bad Blake, a faded country music musician is forced to reassess his dysfunctional life during a doomed romance that also inspires him.

The actor has enjoyed a career that has spanned over fifty year but in that time he has never won a Golden Globe.

He has picked up four other nominations for The Last Picture Show, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, Starman and The Contender but has failed to take home the gong.
