Javier Bardem says it was a huge honour to take on the role of Silva in Skyfall.
The actor was in London earlier this week for the premiere of the new Bond movie at the Royal Albert Hall.
And while Bardem was excited at the prospect of being a part of the Bond franchise he said it was always about the material:
Bardem is one of the new faces on the Skyfall cast list as he plays Silva - someone from M's past that comes back to haunt her.
Skyfall marks the move into blockbuster films for the Oscar winner, who grabbed everyone's attention in No Country for Old Men back in 2008.
It has been over a year since we have seen him on the big screen as Biutiful was his last movie at the beginning of the 2011.
Bardem is joined on the cast list by Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Bérénice Marlohe while Daniel Craig reprises the role of 007.
