Jason Bourne is heading back to the big screen - without Matt Damon.
Universal Pictures movie bosses are reportedly moving forward with plans for a fourth instalment to the Bourne franchise, even though Damon has made it clear he'll only return as the on-the-run hitman if director Paul Greengrass, who made the last two films, signs up to make the movie.
Tony Gilroy, who penned the screenplays to all three Bourne films, has agreed to work on a fourth film, tentatively titled The Bourne Legacy, according to Daily Variety.
Bourne was last seen on the big screen back in the summer of 2007 when it grossed over $442 million at the global box office and was the best movie in the trilogy.
The movies launched the career of Matt Damon as a Hollywood leading man as well as produce a great actor/director relationship between Damon and Greengrass.
Greengrass directed two out of the three movie, Doug Liman at the helm for The Bourne Identity, but had hinted earlier in the year that he may not return.
While Ultimatum was supposed to be the final Bourne film the movie's end was left perfectly poised for a sequel.
