Despite claims that The Bourne Ultimatum would end the franchise it seems that we will be seeing CIA assassin and action hero Jason Bourne back on the big screen.According to trade newspaper Variety actor Matt Damon with reprise the role of Jason Bourne, the role that made his a star, for a fourth time and Brit Paul Greengrass will also direct the picture but it will be the first of the films not to be based on the Robert Ludlum novels.Ultimatum's screenwriter George Nolfi will pen the script. The Bourne franchise began back in 2002 with the Bourne Identity but it really was under the watchful eye of experienced director Greengrass, who directed the last two movies that the project really flourished.Last summer the third. and what was thought to be the final instalment in the Bourne story, made it to the big screen and was the movie of the summer.Despite the idea that sequels get worse as they go along Ultimatum bucked this trend proving to be the strongest movie of the trio. The film was a fast paced, high octane movie which finally gives us answers, as Bourne delves deeper into his hazy past, as it's gradually revealed how he was re-shaped into this super-deadly assassin however it was left with an open end shot Damon ever want to return to the role.It topped UK and US box office charts and grossed nearly $450m (£258m) around the world.
