Jane Goldman has revealed that she was excited to see Daniel Radcliffe take on The Woman In Black.
Goldman has penned the adaptation of the Susan Hill novel which sees Radcliffe take on the central role of Arthur Kipps, his first post Potter role.
And Goldman revealed that Radcliffe threw himself in to the role and delivers a very mature performance.
Speaking to MTV the screenwriter said: "In a sense, with the last few years of 'Potter,' he was playing younger than he is.
He is a young man, but he also threw himself totally into this ['Woman in Black'] role, and the fact that he's so believable as a widower and as a father [is impressive]."
"I found it incredibly exciting seeing Dan playing such a mature role. I think that will be a fun and really interesting thing for his audience to see. He's really playing a man."
Over the last couple of years Goldman has made a name for herself penning scripts for Stardust and Kick-Ass.
2011 was a very busy year for her with X-Men: First Class and The Debt hitting the big screen,
The Woman In Black is released 10th February.
