Jamie Foxx has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Foxx, 39, paid tribute to his grandmother before saying it was "one of the most amazing days of his life. Foxx who was brought up by his gran went on to say "My grandmother's got to be spreading her wings and flying around in heaven, just so happy." The actor won an Oscar in 2005 for best actor for his lead role in Ray, the biopic about the legendary singer Ray Charles. Talking to the press after the ceremony, Foxx came to the defence of singer Britney Spears, whoes recent performance at the MTV Video Music Awards was slammed by critics, saying I think Britney's going to be fine," Telling the AFP news agency, "I think that she was courageous to get up there and do her thing. I wish her well for that," he added. The ceremony is two weeks ahead of the release of Foxx's next film, 'The Kingdom' in which Foxx stars as a member of a US counter-terrorism unit on the hunt for the mastermind of a bombing in Saudi Arabia. Foxx's other film credits include musical Dreamgirls and the big screen version of Miami Vice as well as his recent album Unpredictable which won him the best male prize at the Soul Train Awards earlier this year.
