Jamie Foxx says that he is not bothered that his performance in Django Unchained was overlooked at the Oscars.
The movie sees Foxx team up with director Quentin Tarantino for the very first time and it is a film that has won over critics and audiences.
Django Unchained has picked up a clutch of Oscar nods - including Best Picture - but Foxx's central performance was overlooked.
Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "Not at all. I don't do what I do for awards, I'm just happy to be Django.
"I think that's the most iconic thing. All I ever wanted to get out of this was to be Django."
Django Unchained is the first film outing for Foxx since Horrible Bosses and he has a whole host of projects in the pipeline as well.
He will be back on the big screen later this year with White House Down while Kane & Lynch and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are in pre-production.
Django Unchained is out 18th January.
