Jamie Bell has described Tintin as an old fashioned hero.
The actor takes on the central role in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn alongside Daniel Craig and Andy Serkis.
Speaking to the AP the actor said: "[Tintin is] a great heroic character that is straight-laced, old-fashioned and doesn't rely on anything but just natural instinct.
"I don't think we see those kind of heroes anymore."
"When I found out, A, they were making a film of Tintin, I was immediately excited.
"But, B, when I found out that they wanted me to play him, it was ridiculous," the star commented."
The film is shot entirely using motion capture and is the first of a possible three movies.
The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is out now.
