James Franco has admitted that he prefers being at university to acting.
Franco has enjoyed a very successful career in recent years starring in Spider Man, Pineapple Express and Milk but the actor enjoys his education.
Speaking to Esquire magazine the actor said: "Acting doesn't do very much for me.
"I put off school for it, but it's not like it was a sacrifice or anything. I didn't really miss school until I went back.
"Or maybe I missed it and nobody believed that, not even me. The work of it - and I have really great teachers - that's the stuff that adds up for me in a way that acting doesn't."
Despite not being a huge fan of his job the work has been pouring in for the actor and he is back on the big screen later this year as he teams up with Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem for the adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's novel Eat Pray Love.
He has already completed work on Howl, in which he takes on the role of Allen Gainsbourg, Your Highness and 127 Hours, which sees him work with Oscar winning filmmaker Danny Boyle.
He is currently filming Rose of the Apes with Frieda Pinto and Andy Serkis.
