James Franco has revealed that he is comfortable watching the arm cutting scene in his new movie 127 Hours.
The actor is currently being praised left, right and centre for his role as Aron Ralston in Oscar winner Danny Boyle’s latest move.
But it is the amputation scene that has been causing a stir but the actor, who has been nominated for a Best Actor in a Drama Golden Globe, is happy to watch it.
Speaking to Metro the actor said: "Actually, I'm okay with watching the arm-cutting scene.
"I am a little sensitive about seeing blood on my arm, or having blood drawn for check-ups and stuff like that, but I have been completely fine every time I watch the movie.
"127 Hours presented a new challenge for the actor - he spent most of the shoot acting alone. But Franco admits that he was happy to step up to that challenge.
"Acting in isolation for the majority of the film is very unusual. When Tom Hanks did it for Castaway he had the whole island to walk around on. I was in a single place.
"Then to have Danny Boyle take on a challenge like that, where the character doesn't move, and to try to make an incredibly dynamic movie... it's the kind of project you dream about."
And Franco has been a busy boy on the movie front as he has already completed work on comedy Your Highness and Rise of the Apes.
He is currently filming Maladies and has The Broken Tower and The Iceman in the pipeline.
127 Hours is out now.
