James Cameron has admitted that the Avatar sequel may not be his next movie project.
Battle Angel and The Dive are just two of the projects that the OScar winner has got floating around, and he has already revealed that he would like to do two Avatar sequels.
But with the re-release just days away it may be a few years before we see the world of Pandora on the big screen again.
Speaking to Los Angeles TV station KTLA: "I think three years would be the minimum, probably more like four from where we're sitting right now.
"There's a possibility I might make another film on a different subject in the meantime, because that's a big commitment of time for me. ... I haven't said anything about this publicly yet.
It's a film that I've been working on kind of on and off over the years, just the writing. It might be something that I do first, or it might be something I do after that.
I haven't really mapped it all out yet. ... The other idea that I have is more of a live-action film."
Earlier this month Cameron admitted that he was considering shooting two sequel back to back and was also keen to explore the waters of Pandora in the follow up movie.
