James Cameron has a 'road map' for a second Avatar movie.
Avatar has been such a huge success at the box office that it seemed inevitable that a sequel would be talked about.
Despite knowing where he would go with the movie Cameron claims that it's not definite the project will go ahead.
He told Empire: "I have a road map. I know where I’m going with it. The key to a sequel is to meet audience expectation and yet be surprising.
"That’s an interesting equipoise, between those factors of expectation and surprise. But deals have to be made, things like that! It’s not a slamdunk that we are doing it.
"There was always this notion that it made sense from a business standpoint that if we invested all this money in the first film, that our margin would be less than it would be on the second film, where all the assets existed."
Fans have flocked to cinemas all over the world to catch a glimpse of Cameron's ground-breaking movie Avatar, the film has gone on to break the $2 billion barrier.
The movie is now the biggest grossing film of all time, overtaking Titanic after a twelve year reign, and it looks like oScar success could be coming the movie's way.
Avatar has been nominated for nine gongs, including Best Picture and Best Director for Cameron.
