Daniel Craig as 007

Michael G. Wilson has revealed that production on the twenty third James Bond movie may no go ahead as scheduled with MGM up for sale.

The movie, which would see Daniel Craig reprise the role of 007 for the third time, was due to start filming at the end of this year but Wilson has hinted that this may have to be put on hold.

MI6 quotes the bond producer as saying: "Our timeline's a little up in the air what with the situation at MGM, so we have to be flexible."

"We just don't know enough about the situation to comment, but we know it's uncertain."

"We've hired the writers and we've been working with them but it's just too early to say anything. You know, often at this stage, I find myself saying, 'Oh, we're gonna do this and that', then six months from now you'll say, 'That isn't in the film at all - you told me it was...'

"I think we're at the stage where a lot of ideas are floating around that sound very good, but whether they make the final cut, who knows?"

Craig took on the role of Bond in 2006, surrounded in much controversy, but Casino Royale went on to become the highest grossing Bond film taking over $594 million at the global box office.

Quantum of Solace was released two years later and enjoyed similar box office success grossing over $586 million.
