Jake Gyllenhaal admits that he couldn't turn down his Prince of Persia role.
The actor takes on the role of Prince Dastan in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a big screen adaptation of the hit computer game.
Speaking to The Times the actor said: "This was so unlikely to do that I had to do it... running around and having sword fights is what I always dreamt of doing."
"The film does happen to be taking place in a desert landscape, highly influenced by Persian culture, but every set you go on, they're all different.
"I walk on set one day and say, 'Oh my God, we're making Stars Wars'; I walk on the next day, 'Oh my God, we're making Laurence of Arabia'."
The movie is directed by Mike Newell and follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.
The film brings together a great cast of Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is released 28th May.
