Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed that he often gets mistaken for his Brother co-star Tobey Maguire.
The pair team up for the latest war movie Brothers and is Gyllenhaal’s first movie since Rendition.
Speaking to Contactmusic he said: "People have often said to me that I look like Tobey, so I thought it was perfect casting.
"They really just made Brothers so it could be said that I look different from Tobey. In fact, to all those cab drivers in New York, I am not Spiderman!"
The actor also admitted that he was intimidated by Brothers’ filmmaker Jim Sheridan.
"He walked up to me in the movie and he said, 'Jake, I just want you to know, you're playing my little brother in the movie so I'm going to have to hate you most of the time'.
“Honestly, he was like, 'I f**king hate you!' But clearly the process worked."
Gyllenhaal returns to the big screen later this year with the big screen adaptation of hit video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Brothers is released 22nd January.
