Jackson Rathbone has calmed any worried fans confirming that Edward Pattinson plays a very prominent role in New Moon.
The character leaves Bella Swan's life early on in the story, appearing only as a figment of her imagination. However Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the movie, has assured fans that they have nothing to worry about.
However the actor did admit that his own role isn't very big. In an interview with MTV the actor said: "I only shot for three weeks, and out of those three weeks that I was [in Vancouver] I think I actually filmed four days. So, I mean, I'm not so much in New Moon."
"It's one of those things where we want to follow as closely to the books as possible. In New Moon, you don't see that much of the Cullens. You really don't. So there's not too much of us in there."
"I've heard people are concerned about Edward and the Cullens not being in the film, but Edward is very prominent in the film, especially in Bella's mind. The way that [director] Chris Weitz worked it out is beautiful, and I think that people are going to love it."
The second instalment of Stephenie Meyers phenomenally successful Twilight series sees the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.
New Moon is released 20th November.
