Jack Huston has revealed that he auditioned for another part in Twilight Saga: Eclipse before landing the role of Royce King in the new movie.
The third instalment in the franchise takes a closer look at Rosalie Hale's back story, in which King is her boyfriend. But Huston admits that this wasn't the role that he auditioned for.
Speaking to Details the actor said: "I auditioned for another part - a newborn vampire - and kind of shocked the producers. I acted like a junkie.
"I hadn't slept the night before and had drunk lots of coffee. Everyone was like, 'Um, a little too edgy'. But they liked me enough to offer me this part instead."
And while the actor admits that he has been taken aback by the level of excitement from the fans he admires their dedication.
"There was an English teacher, who had saved up her time off and flown from England to Vancouver to put herself up in the same hotel as the cast.
"She sat in the lobby all day, just to see them walk out. That's a little extreme, but I like her dedication."
Huston has mixed and matched his acting roles this year moving between TV with Eastwick and movies with Mr Nice, which saw him star alongside Rhys Ifans.
He has completed work on Wilde Salome, which is directed by and stars Al Pacino, and is set to star alongside Ray Winstone in The Hot Potato.
