JJ Abrams has described Steven Spielberg as 'unlimited'.
The E.T. director has been a hero of Abrams since he was a young boy and the pair worked together on Abrams' latest movie Super 8.
While the movie marks the return of Abrams to the director's chair Spielberg was on producing duties.
Talking to Digital Spy the filmmaker said: "There are a number of movies he's made [that I love]. I thought Munich was incredible."
"He seems to have no limits to what he can do. He's working on Robopocalypse and Lincoln, both right now. He's unlimited."
And Spielberg has plenty of projects in the pipeline War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin due for release this year - the Oscar winner has not directed a movie since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008.
He teams up with Peter Jackson and Weta Digital for Tintin while Lincoln is another project in the pipeline.
Super 8 is out now.
