Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Last week it was revealed that the actor was in talks to appear in the sequel to the highly successful X-Men: First Class.
And it was director Bryan Singer who broke the new of Jackman's casting on Twitter:
"I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come..."
James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will be reprising their roles from the first movie while Jackman is not the only face from the original franchise that are back.
Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart went head to head as Magneto and Professor X in the original trilogy of movies and they have signed on for the new film.
It will be the first X-Men movie helmed by Singer since the success of X2 and he has taken over the helm from Matthew Vaughn.
We will be seeing Jackman back as Wolverine next summer for his second standalone movie The Wolverine.
Filming on X-Men: Days of Future Past will get underway early next year.
