Filming got underway on the new Wolverine movie yesterday and Hugh Jackman tweeted his excitement at returning to the character.
The actor is set to reprise the role of Logan in the second stand alone movie for the X-Men character - the movie is set to be titled The Wolverine.
Taking to Twitter Jackman said: "We're on day 1 of shooting. Wolverine is back... feel so pumped about this one... never felt so ready!!!! will keep y'all posted!!!"
"And you know what that means.... the wolverine diet!! this was meal 2 at 9am this morning," he wrote alongside the photograph of chicken breast and asparagus.
It was back in 2000 when Jackman took on the role of Wolverine for the very first time and it was to be a role that propelled him to international fame.
He went on to star in three X-Men movies before starring in X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009.
But before we see him back as Logan the actor is set to star as Jean Valjean in a big screen adaptation of Les Miserables.
The movie sees Tom Hooper back in the director's chair while Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway are also on the cast list.
The Wolverine is released July 2013.
