Hugh Jackman says that The Wolverine is ready to go - despite losing it's director earlier this month.

Jackman is set to reprise the role of Logan in a second stand alone movie for the character of Wolverine.

Darren Aronofsky was set to direct the project but had to pull out due to personal reasons. The project is currently looking for a director but production is ready to go according to the actor.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly the actor said: "So now we're out looking for a director," he said.

"We were pretty much ready to go. The script is fantastic - the best we've ever had, which is why it attracted Darren in the first place.

"His personal situation precludes him from doing it now, and I feel for him. But now we need to find a director."

"We're not going to settle. We're going to find a director as good as Darren, if not better. Well, as good.

"Everyone is still pushing forward to getting it done."

X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the last time that we saw Jackman on the big screen but he has already completed work on Butter, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Real Steel, the latter teaming him up with Shaun Levy.
