Hugh Jackman has revealed that he is excited about the new Wolverine movies and believes that it will be ‘the best of the bunch’.
The actor is all set to reunite with Darren Aronofsky, who he worked with on The Fountain, and reprise the role of Logan.
It may be Aronofsky’s first superhero movie but Jackman admits that he is excited about working with the filmmaker again.
Speaking to MTV Movies the actor said: "I love his gung-ho attitude toward it and great vision.
"Straight off, it's not a sequel, it's a standalone, and I think we're going to make one that people will describe as the best of the bunch. ...
“I'm as excited as anybody to see what we come up with. I know we're going to be met with huge expectations."
Jackman is currently piling on the muscle for the new movie, which will be called The Wolverine, after Aronofsky asked him to get bigger than in the previous film.
"Darren said with the last one, 'Hey, you looked great, but you're so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that's not Wolverine‘.
"He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he's short and thick. So he said, 'I want you to go there, get bigger.' "
We may not have seen Jackman on the big screen since X-Men Origins: Wolverine but the actor has been a busy boy completing work on Butter, Movie 43, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Real Steel.
The Wolverine is scheduled for a 2012 release.
