Henry Cavill has praised the realistic nature of the sets on his new movie Immortals because it helped the actors get into the character and the moment.
Cavill leads the cast this week in the Tarsem Singh directed movie, which looks amazing it has to be said, and he admits that it was nice not having to imagine what everything would look like.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "The sets were absolutely fantastic and elaborate and that helps us as actors, if I might speak for myself, helped me as an actor enormously because we had our immediate surroundings and they were so well designed with such a fantastic attention to detail that you could quite easily, if you turned your back to the green screen portion and you just faced, say, the village set, it literally felt like you were there!
"There were little things burning and it smelled like it was not in a studio. It was all really, really well done.
"It made an enormous difference to all of our performances, I believe."
At the moment Cavill is switching him time from promoting Immortals as well as filming Superman: Man of Steel - in which he will play Clark Kent.
The film is a reboot of the popular franchise which will see Zack Snyder in the director's chair and Christopher Nolan on producing duties,
Immortals is out now.
