Helen Mirren has called Russell Brand an 'incredible comedian'.
The pair are currently filming Arthur, a remake of the 1981 movie, and this is their second movie together having also shot The Tempest, which is due out later this year.
Speaking to The Scotsman the actress said: "It's unlike most other film experience, where you don't change lines that much. But Russell isn't a wild cannon.
"He has an incredible comedian's brain but he pays attention to detail."
Despite starring in the remake alongside Brand the Oscar winning actress admits that she wasn't a fan of the original, which starred Dudley Moore.
"I just didn't think a film about a drunken small guy was remotely funny.
"The reality about alcoholics is that they're boring and tedious, and I'd spent enough nights in pubs with drunken boys to know it was not something I'd ever want to be caught up in."
"And I particularly objected to the way women were depicted - which was something I felt about most movies I saw back then - as kind of slave-enablers."
It's been a super busy year for the actress with Love Ranch, The Debt, The Tempest, Brighton Rock and Red all awaiting release, she also lent her voice to animation movie Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
She is currently filming Arthur with The Door waiting in the pipeline.
