Helen Hunt says that she is not betting on an Oscar nomination but she is excited about the buzz that surrounds the movie and her performance.

The actress was on the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival this week at a screening of the movie - which is directed by Ben Lewin.

And early Oscar whispers predict that Hunt could well be in the running for the Best Actress Oscar next year.

Speaking to the Press Association the actress said: "I wouldn't bet on anything."

"It's exciting. A movie like this, if this movie got that kind of attention it would be a good day for filmmakers and movie goers and actors and women, I think it would be great."

The Sessions is based on the true story of Mark O'Brien and sees Hunt take on the role of a professional sex surrogate.

The this is first movie outing for Hunt since Soul Surfer but she has already completed work on Decoding Annie Parker.

The Sessions is released 18th January.
