Heath Ledger's final movie is set to premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in France after becoming a last-minute screening.
Film fans and the media are expected to flock to Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when it opens on the eve of a day of publicity on 22 May (09).
The film follows the travelling theatre show of Dr Parnassus who hides a dark secret.
As well as Ledger, the film features Christopher Plummer, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Tom Waits and Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, who stepped in to complete the tragic actor's scenes.
Ledger passed away of an accidental overdose in January 2008 mid way through filming but Bafta winning filmmaker Gilliam continued with production in honour of the late actor.
The film will not be among those competing for film festival prizes.
Ledger fans flocked to see his performance in The Dark Knight last simmer, in which he played villain the Joker.
His performance saw him dominate the awards season picking up Best Supporting Actor gongs at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, Baftas and the Oscars.
