The late star's family is working with bosses at the WA Museum in his native Perth to create a tour chronicling Ledger's life.

Items featured in the exhibition will include his 2009 posthumous Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of The Joker in the Batman movie, as well as his costume from the film and a diary he kept while developing the twisted character.

Other memorabilia from A Knight's Tale and 10 Things I Hate About You will also go on show, along with pieces from his interests outside acting, including chess, photography and directing music videos, according to Perth Now.

Ledger passed away after suffering an accidental drug overdose in 2008. The actor never saw the final cut of The Dark Knight before his death but he went on to win a Best Supoprting Actor Oscar for his performance as The Joker.
