Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 has stood firm at the top of the UK box office for a second week.

The first part of the final instalment of the hit franchise took a further £8.3 million to comfortably hold the top spot.

Denzel Washington was back on the big screen this weekend with his new movie Unstoppable, which sees him reunite with filmmaker Tony Scott, which was the highest new entry at number two.

With an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train barreling toward a city, a veteran engineer and a young conductor race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe.

The movie took £1.7 million to open at number two while a second new entry, in the form of London Boulevard, rounded off the big three.

Due Date dropped two places to this week's number four while it was new entries galore as The American, which sees George Clooney return to the big screen, was in at five.

Despicable Me was down three to number six while The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest, the third film in the Millennium Trilogy, was new at seven.

Jackass 3D was down three to number eight while Skyline was this week's biggest faller as it dropped five places from four to this week's number nine.
