Harrison Ford has admitted that he 'didn't get' the scrip for Cowboys and Aliens when he first started reading it.
The actor stars in the Jon Favreau directed movie this week alongside Daniel Craig in the Western meets alien invasion movie.
But the actor says that it was only when he read further into the script did he really become 'intrigued'.
Speaking to Digital Spy the actor said: "I didn't get very far. I didn't get it exactly, because I didn't imagine that the director was actually serious about making a real Western."
"I was encouraged to read more, I read more and I was intrigued by the character opportunity.
"He (Favreau) was not interested in making a tongue-in-cheek, jokey movie but a solid Western with the added element of alien abduction."
Ford has already enjoyed success this year with comedy movie Morning Glory and Cowboys & Aliens has topped the U.S. box office.
