Harrison Ford believes that you have to value the movie work that you do to get respect in the movie industry.
The actor openly admits that he got into acting because of the money but soon learnt that if you were happy to be underpaid and didn't respect or value what you were working on then you wouldn't get that respect in return.
Speaking to Metro the actor said: "I'm in it for the money and I mean that in the nicest possible way. When I came into this business I was under contract to a studio for $150 a week.
"One thing I learnt is that the studios had no respect for a person who was willing to work for them for that amount so I realised that the value I put on my own work was the value and respect I would get back."
And the actor reveals that he is not really interested in winning awards for his work because he isn't drawn to those types of roles.
"I don't care very much about awards. I'd rather make a living at what I do and have time to be with my family. I'm not drawn to the kinds of performances that usually net awards. I don't have any expectation in that area."
The actor will next be seen on the big screen in Morning Glory, which sees him star alongside Rachel McAdams and Diane Keaton before going on to star in Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens.
There is also talk of another Indiana Jones movie in the pipeline, but Ford wasn't giving too much away.
There may well be another Indiana Jones if we find a script and we're able to develop a story in less than the 18 years it took to make the last one. If I'm still alive, I'll make myself available."
