Harrison Ford is to be honoured with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in California later this year (10).
Veteran movie icon Douglas will be present to hand the accolade to Ford at a black-tie gala on 19 November (10).
He says, "I’m delighted to give this award to Harrison Ford. It’s always a pleasure to honour these young actors who do so well."
The organisers will be hoping Ford can show up for his big moment after he was forced to pull out of an Operation Smile charity dinner held in his honour on Friday (24Sep10) - his new bride Calista Flockhart stepped in and accepted the award on his behalf.
The actor will next bee seen on the big screen in Morning Glory, which will be released in the UK in the new year, in which he will star alongside Rachel McAdams and Diane Keaton.
He has also just completed work on Cowboys and Aliens, the new movie from Jon Favreau and will also star Daneil Craig.
