Hailee Steinfeld has admitted that she was asleep when the Oscar nominations were revealed.
The teenager received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance in the Coen Brothers' latest movie True Grit.
And while she was asleep she reveals that she didn't stay that way for long when she was woken by the exciting screams from her parents.
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live the actress said: I was asleep when the announcements were being made. I woke up because my parents were screaming in the other room as they watched!
"It's very overwhelming; it's a lot to comprehend [but] I have great family and friends who are very supportive."
True Grit was nominated for ten Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director for Joel and Ethan Coen and Best Actor for Jeff Bridges.
True Grit is released 11th February.
