Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she feels that she did too much acting in her twenties.

The actress, who is set to reprise her role as Pepper Potts in the sequel to last summer's blockbuster Iron Man, feels that she took on too many roles in the early part of her career.

In an interview with The Independent: "I do feel in my 20s I did way too much. I didn't realise I could say 'no'. It was like someone shot a gun and I just kept running and running... until I completely lost the desire to work.

"I felt like I had nothing to say. Then a lot of things happened in my life. My father died. I met my husband. I had a baby.

"I thought: 'There's actually a real life to be had here that has nothing to do with Hollywood and all of these people and all of this negativity.'"

The role of Pepper Potts saw a return to the big budget blockbuster for the Oscar winning actress who has worked sparingly since having children with her Coldplay husband Chris Martin.

Her next role sees her star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Two Lovers which is released in the UK on March 27.
