Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler has called his new movie Coriolanus relevant.

The movie promises to be one of the early must sees of 2012 and Butler has called in Shakespeare's The Hurt Locker.

The actor stars alongside Ralph Fiennes, who is making his directorial debut with this movie, in an adaptation of the Shakespeare play.

Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "I know it would be a cliche but it really is The Hurt Locker. It's Shakespeare's Hurt Locker. That's what it's like."

"It's set in modern day and feels so relevant with what the story's about.

"All that dialogue's been taken out and you find yourself completely engrossed."

The movie was heavily praised on the festival circuit last year and it's the first movie role of Butler since Machine Gun Preacher.

Coriolanus is released 20th January
