Geoffrey Rush is thrilled by his Golden Globe nomination.
The actor has picked up a nod for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lionel Louge in The King’s Speech.
Speaking to CNN the actor said: "Playing an Australian commoner called upon to teach a reluctant English king some life lessons for me was fascinating in itself.
"To have it embraced by American audiences and to be so honoured by the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) only endorses how global this story has become.
“Seeing a small scale project play into an international arena makes this all the more worthwhile."
And the actor will be back on the big screen in the summer with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - in which he reprises the role of Captain Barbossa.
He has also completed The Eye of the Storm, which sees him team up with director Fred Schepisi.
