Gabourey Sidibe refuses to get upset about her omission from Vanity Fair magazine's coveted Young Hollywood edition, insisting she would feel out of place next to all the other young actresses.
Every year editors at the publication choose the most promising female stars of the previous 12 months and bring them together for a group photoshoot.
The recent 2010 edition featured actresses including Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried and Anna Kendrick.
But the line-up has been met with criticism from several newspaper columnists and online bloggers, who have accused magazine bosses of failing to include any stars from ethnic minorities in the all-white group.
Sidibe, who has landed a Best Actress Oscar nod for her role in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, was notably absent from the feature.
But she's adamant she wouldn't have wanted to take part anyway - because the plus-size 26 year old would have felt awkward among a group of super-slender, perfectly coiffed Hollywood actresses.
She tells Access Hollywood, "At first I thought, 'Hmm, should I be there? Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoot I would have felt a little left out anyway.
"I would have felt a little like... whether or not I should have been there. (It) doesn't matter, because I wasn't on it and I'm excited to be mentioned anywhere, and it doesn't matter to me where I'm not mentioned."
