Freida Pinto's spokesperson has denied reports the actress has signed up to be Daniel Craig's next Bond girl.
British tabloid reports last week (ends21Mar10) fuelled speculation that the Slumdog Millionaire star has been chosen to appear in the next 007 movie, which will be directed by Sam Mendes and set in Afghanistan.
A source told the Daily Mirror, "Freida was always the dream Bond girl, but initially she was nervous about accepting it. This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet."
But Pinto's rep has dismissed the stories, insisting movie bosses have not asked the actress to star in the action franchise.
Her spokesperson tells India's NDTV, "I would like to confirm that as of today, Freida Pinto has not been approached to be part of the next Bond film."
Pinto shot to fame in Danny Boyle's rags to riches movie Slumdog Millionaire, which took Best Picture at the 2009 Oscars.
Despite not appearing on the big screen since the actress does have projects in the pipeline. Both Miral, starring alongside Willem Dafoe, and You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, which also stars Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins, are in post production.
