Freida Pinto has revealed that she didn't know if she would ever top the success that she enjoyed with Slumdog Millionaire.
The actress starred in the Danny Boyle directed movie back in 2009, which went on to take Best Picture at the Oscars, and she shot to fame along with co-star Dev Patel.
Speaking to BlackBook Magazine the actress said: "When your first film happens to be such a big success, there's going to be pressure and expectations, and people are going to dissect you in a way that's almost uncomfortable.
"I was worried people might dismiss me as someone who had 20 minutes in a film and now considers herself a big star. But it's like, my god, I never asked for this."
She was back on the big screen earlier this year with You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger and is back with her new movie Miral next month.
The movie centres on an orphaned Palestinian girl growing up in the wake of the first Arab-Israeli war who finds herself drawn into the conflict.
She has also completed work on Rise of the Apes, which also stars James Franco, and is currently filming Immortals, which also stars Mickey Rourke.
Miral is released 3rd December.
