Transformers 3, Super 8, Mission Impossible 4 and the first Tintin film are all set to be released in IMAX this year. IMAX have announced that they've signed an agreement to show four Paramount Pictures movies in 2011. J.J. Abrams' super secretive Super 8, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol directed by Brad Bird and having Tom Cruise reprise is role of Ethan Hunt, Transformers: Dark of the Moon directed by Michael Bay and finally Steven Spielberg's motion capture epic version of Tintin. Transformers and Tintin will be released in 3D and it has been revealed that Mission Impossible features some scenes shot specifically for IMAX. IMAX sales attributed to 25% of the sales for Tron Legacy, of which the IMAX covered 7% of the overall openings (US figures). It shows that IMAX is the way forward for a lot of films, especially those of the scale of Transformers and Tintin. The truly big blockbusters. FemaleFirst - James Butlin
